Data Science Foundations
Description:
Current innovations in the technological field have opened new dimensions and possibilities across all domains, especially taking into consideration the increasing amount of usage of mobile devices, web applications, and the internet of things, data is being created at high volumes and high speed. Due to this trend, the domain of data science has adopted innovative approaches and modern solutions to handle and make sense of the data. However, the majority of these approaches have their origin in traditional statistics which provided a strong foundation for other techniques and algorithms to expand and increase their capabilities. For most organizations and individuals today, making sense of the data and utilizing it to increase efficiency, improve decision making or predict future trends has become an important necessity.
During this online course, attendees will be able to familiarize themselves with the core concepts and notions of the data science domain. Furthermore, the course takes a consistent approach to discuss first the general understanding of data science, big data, and the latest tools and frameworks for storing, preprocessing, and modeling data. The most important and common algorithms of machine learning are elaborated with the support of statistical evidence and use cases to help the reader get a better understanding of why data science is important and how it originated. This online course consists of (5) five modules, providing an introduction to the data science domain with a brief overview of core concepts, discussing big data and methods of storing and manipulating data, dives deeper into machine learning with the unsupervised learning and supervised learning modules, and lastly concluding the course with the latest and innovative applications and use cases that rely on data science.
