In this online course, students will learn how to thoroughly and critically analyze a business organization’s capacities to implement the security controls outlined by the Canadian Center for Cyber Security in their guide for Baseline Cyber Security Controls for Small and Medium Organizations. “Certified CyberSafe Implementer” online course is designed to offer students an in-depth understanding of how to identify and manage the operational risks that arise from a cybersecurity perspective, thus operating safely in today’s business environment. The course consists of five modules, which cover in detail the basic organizational controls, from their definition and implementation, through implementation and operation, actions on objectives, monitoring, and review, and finally their maintenance and improvement.
Upon the successful completion of the course, the student/participant will become familiar with the following concepts and will be able to:
- Learn to define and establish organizational controls.
- Learn how to develop an incident response plan.
- Critically analyze an organization’s capacities to implement security controls.
- Understand the importance of access control and authorization.
- Determine the scope of information technology.
- Determine the value of information systems and assets.
- Understand the importance of automatic patching operating systems and applications.
- Learn how to securely configure devices.
- Understand the importance of employee training.
